This challenge coin was donated by the P&W site lead at EAFB, to the museum for fundraising. It was designed by P&W flight test personnel at Edwards, with the following explanation:
“Being that Edwards is Flight Test and we are the ones who keep innovations alive, the paper airplanes represent the imagination of flight to the shadowed aircraft reality of what we continue to make for the future of aviation. We are the builders of flight ingenuity, the creators of aeronautical vision, and the backbone of the aviation world. We are jet engine mechanics. It was actually an arm tattoo design I was already making of my military journey through the aircraft I’ve worked on and the engines that put them up there.” ~ Marylin Mathis
